State Of Play went hard this year! We have a lot to unpack here! What an event that was! From brand new big name titles, to remakes, we’ve managed to get everything covered, and wrapped up neatly for you in 1 spot. Now.. Where to start?
Let’s kick things off with remakes & remasters. It’s not everyones favourite topic, but there are some amazing titles coming back with fresh graphics, updated mechanics and they’re actually playable on today’s technology, get ready to get lost in Nostalgia City.
You have a pretty good idea of what to expect with remasters and remakes, so I’ll just get these listed:
- Legacy Of Kain: Defiance Remastered – March 3rd 2026
- Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition – February 13th Digital, June 26th Physical
- Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 2 – August 27th
- God Of War Trilogy
That’s some pretty heavy classics making a comeback, but now we get to the real good stuff. Trailers have been added for each game, so you can find all the relevant information in one handy page. Brand new releases set to drop this year include:
Neva: Prologue – Set years before the original game, Neva: Prolgue tells the story of how Alba and the wolf cub Neva first met. Visit new locations, face new enemies and perilous trials while confronting a monstrous force trying to tear them apart. Neva: Prologue is set to release February 19th.
Resident Evil: Requiem – I think many fans are familiar with the premise of Resident Evil, it’s one of the longest running franchises. To celebrate 30 years of Resident Evil, Capcom are releasing Resident Evil: Requiem, taking place roughly 30 years after the destruction of Raccoon City. Play as a new protagonist – Grace, as she tries to outrun Victor who’s dead set on catching her. Set to release on February 22nd.
Marathon – Fans of first person shooters have been keeping an eye on this one. Marathon is set on the planet Tau Ceti IV. A New extraction shooter faces players off against other players and AI, get out with your loot, and get ready to hop back in again stronger than before. Great News you won’t have to wait long to play. Bungie are hosting a server slam on February 26 – March 2. Then just 3 days later the game releases on March 5th.
Ghost Of Yotei: Legends – A free expansion for Ghost Of Yotei featuring online co-op multiplayer. With four distinct classes (Samurai, Archer, Mercenary & Shinobi) 4 players will be able to play survival modes together, including Giant versions of the Yotei Six and other supernatural enemies. Two player story missions have also been added to keep you company on your adventures. Ghost Of Yotei: Legends releases March 10th
Darwin’s Paradox – Play as the Octopus Darwin. Using whimsical abilities, such as inhaling air to float, or using your tentacles to slingshot yourself, navigate challenging levels to make your way back to the paradise coral that you once called home. Playable Demo available now, full release April 2nd.
Pragmata – On an abandoned moon base, you control both Hugh – a human spacefarer, and your piggybacking sidekick “Pragmata”. Play as both simultaneously, as you expose enemy weaknesses, manipulate the environment and adapt to the enemies around you in fast paced combat. The Story focuses on on the emotional bond between the two as they explore and survive together. Pragmata releases April 24th.
Saros – Another of the stronger looking games coming out of State Of Play is Saros. Play as Arjun as you discover the hostile shapeshifting planet of Carcosa. One thing that does separate this game from many others, is your inevitable death. Death comes with benefits in Saros though. Through death you enter The Passage – where allies await with lore and attributes and perks to make you stronger, you can make enemies stronger, or weaker, or even remove the second chance ability entirely if you really want a challenge. Then you can teleport back to any biome you’ve already unlocked to get right back into the action. Saros Releases April 30th.
007: First Light – Bond is blasting his way back onto our screens. Play as 007 as you navigate women, guns and cars like never before – it wouldn’t be Bond without a couple classic Aston Martins. Your task is to stop and capture 009 from going ahead with the attack. Charm, manipulate and fight your way to your target. 007: First Light Releases on May 27th.
Kena: Scars Of Kosmora – Now this looks like an interesting Action Adventure RPG, participate in epic boss battles, cleanse corruption and embrace the emotionally gripping storyline as you explore Kosmora. Building on it’s Predecessor Kena: Bridge Of Spirits, we have a deeper, more dynamic combat system, a larger, richer world and our charming spirit companions. Kena: Scars Of Kosmora Releases sometime 2026.
4:Loop – A challenging 4 player combat sandbox. Utilise the Probability Map, combining alien technology and human ingenuity to figure how best to defeat your enemies. Everyone votes to choose your next mission, defining your groups risks and rewards. The world is full of life, some will help, others will harm – approach with caution. The trailer features amazing boss battles with truly unique mechanics. 4:Loop has no release date yet, but playtests are upcoming, so stay tuned to find out when you can join.
Project Windless – Fight against religious fanatics – as a giant chicken, and this chicken didn’t skip leg day… Slash your way through hoardes of enemies, awaken allies and slay huge beasts, call upon your plasma breathing Griffin to reach your foes. Honestly, this game seems to be full of action, check it out below and then tell me I’m wrong when I say… This Looks Epic! Project Windless has no release date yet.
John Wick – Bet you can’t guess what this one is about… No, I’ll give you a clue – You send this guy to kill the boogeyman. Ever wanted to “play” a movie, because that’s what this trailer looks like, these combat scenes are incredible, the character model is bang on. In true John Wick Fashion, these combat sequences will see you grab anything and everything nearby to use in a fight. The trailer looks amazing! I really hope the game can deliver. John Wick is available for wishlist, but has no release date yet.
What a load to break down! State Of Play have not disappointed with the first event of the year. So many of these games are definitely going on my wishlist.
The John Wick fight sequences look incredible! 4:Loop seems to have boss fights absolutely cracked and Project Windless Graphics look Out Of This World! Can Marathon be a contendor for Arc Raiders? Is Darwin’s Paradox silly enough to be really good? Or are you more interested in the remasters? Let us know in the comments below.
