Arc raiders is still running strong, and a recent update brings in new weapons, an upgrade to Scrappy and new Arc enemies.
The most significant news is probably the scrappy update, now your favourite chicken won’t just collect basic materials, but more rare, refined resources if you feed it right.
Those stray fruits that make it into your inventory at the end of an expedition, instead of just selling them or trading in for seeds, they can now be fed to Scrappy and at the end of each round Scrappy may just have a surprise for you. You’ll be able to feed up to 6 rounds in advance. Check out the table below for rewards.
| Food Type | Resource Bonus | Additional Bonus |
| Agave | Assorted Seeds | Chance to get mods or materials to craft mods. |
| Apricot | Metal Parts | Chance of getting Gunsmith materials or equipment. |
| Fruit Mix | Assorted Seeds, Chemicals, Fabric, Metal, Plastic, Rubber | Chance of getting better Topside materials. |
| Lemon | Chemicals | Chance of getting Explosive Station materials or equipment. |
| Mushroom | Plastic Parts | Chance of getting Gear Bench materials or equipment. |
| Olives | Fabric | Chance of getting Madical Lab materials or equipment. |
| Prickly Pear | Rubber Parts | Chance of getting Utility Station materials or equipment. |
There are some conditions to this: You must stay in the raid for a minimum of 6 minutes to receive anything from scrappy, but you don’t have to extract, you still get something if you die and Scrappy must have one of the food items above before entering the raid.
In temrs of the rewards, for the most part you’ll get some kind of crafting material required to make an item. For example, if you leave Scrappy with Lemons, you’ll probably get something like an explosive compound, but on some rare occasions you may well find a much better surprise awaits. Some players have reported Wolfpack grenades, Looting Mk3 (Survivor), and even Queen reactors if Scrappy was fed the appropriate food item, so don’t sleep on this!
New Weapons Have made their way Topside
Tian Wen has been grafting in her little workshop, working on something new, something big… We’ll Start with the Canto – a new SMG that pumps out medium rounds, dealing with Arc in a pinch, and keeping other devious raiders off your back. The Dolabra – the latest energy weapon to hit the Topside, specifically designed for taking down Arc, this monster comes with 2 fire settings, You can fire off a wide burst, like a shotgun, or a focused funnel of electricity. Finally, there is the Surge Coil – a deployable device that periodically electrifies it’s surrounding, zapping Arc and players that get too close.
New Weapons means New Arc Enemies
Yup, new Arc enemies have descended and they’re meaner than ever – well, we need something to try out the new weapons, but for those that were around for the last wave of new Arc Enemies, you already know they’re a decent step up from previous enemies, and this time is no different. We have the Vaporizer – a new flying Arc that locks on and fires a vaporizing beam that will do massive damage and burn – there isn’t an easy way to take these down yet, they have a defence against wolf packs similar to the matriarch, throwing up some kind of forcefield preventing them getting through, but maybe the Dolabra can get the job done.

The Vaporizer can be found in the new event Close Scrutiny, guarding the Assessor along with a few other flying Arc, tread carefully, or it might be the last step you take Topside… It will be worth it to get your hands on the new blueprints. You can read the full update notes here.
What’s going to be the first thing you feed Scrappy? Going to try and bag yourself a couple augments? Or going to try for the queen reactor? Let us know if you figure out how to deal with the vaporizor.
